Found this one the other day while surfing the good ol net...a friend posted it and i was like damn if i was going to be home for Superbowl Sunday i would so so so be making it but seeing that on Sunday i shall be going to the Deep Purple concert at the Halifax Metro Centre then i shall not be home...however i plan on making this at a later date...

A drumroll please...

Pizza Dip Ingredients

1 (8-oz.) container soft cream cheese with chives and onions
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/3 cup finely chopped pepperoni
2 oz. (1/2 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
2 oz. (1/2 cup) shredded Cheddar cheddar

Directions

Heat oven to 350°F. In an ungreased 9-inch pie pan or 1 to 1 1/2-quart baking dish, layer all ingredients in order listed.
Bake at 350°F. for 10 to 15 minutes or until dip is hot and cheese is melted.
Serve warm with bagel crisps, bagel chips or crackers

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Servings: 2 cups

I must admit folks i have been a wee bit nervous about Sunday's concert.. worried we are going to have crappy weather or in the case of Corner Brook, Nfld...have the concert canceled....i have never been to Corner Brook...but is there really not that much to do there? I have had some people tell me that Deep Purple has not been relevant in yrs to the rock n roll world...but to me they were one of the BIG 3 along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath..one of the Metal Godfathers and they have NEVER been to Halifax or the Maritime provinces at all... this may be my ONLY chance to see them... anyways it looks like Sunday is a go folks..so enjoy the game and if you make it..enjoy the dip...i be too busy headbanging...or whatever people do these days... :)

MST3K - Escape 2000 aka Escape From The Bronx aka Bronx Warriors Part II

There are those of us..well a few of us that really dig 1990: The Bronx Warriors and its sequel Escape From the Bronx aka Bronx Warriors Part II aka for some reason Escape 2000... however Old Man Robb could not resist the opportunity to watch this cult classic from the 80s with the commentary from the crew at MST3K..aka Mystery Science Theatre 3000...which i discovered via satellite tv at an old friends place eons ago and then thanks to the power of the internet i discovered them much later in the 90s and yes that dirty dirty dirty word i downloaded and watched them..well one after another and always managed to get a chuckle out of watching dude Joel and his robot sidekicks Tom Servo and Crow rip the ever living daylights out of a lot of bad bad movies...

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (often abbreviated as MST3K) is an American cult television comedy series created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc., that ran from 1988 to 1999.

The series features a man and his robot sidekicks who are trapped on a space station by an evil scientist and forced to watch a selection of bad movies, often (but not limited to) science fiction B-movies. To keep sane, the man and his robots provide a running commentary on each film, making fun of its flaws and wisecracking (or "riffing") their way through each reel in the style of a movie-theater peanut gallery. Each film is presented with a superimposition of the man and robots' silhouettes along the bottom of the screen.

Joel has no control over when the movies start, because—as the original theme song stated -- "he used those special parts to make his robot friends." He must enter the theater when "Movie Sign" flashes, because Dr. Clayton Forrester (and in later seasons, his evil would-be tyrant mother Pearl) has numerous ways to punish Joel/Mike for non-compliance, including shutting off the oxygen supply to the rest of the ship, and electric shocks. As the movies play, the silhouettes of Joel/Mike, Tom, and Crow are visible at the bottom of the screen, wisecracking and mocking the movie (a practice they often referred to as "riffing") in order to prevent themselves from being driven mad.

Basically the show does what me and my friend Barry did for yrs...find the worst movies that could possibly find and well..bury the living daylights out of them with a peanut gallery commentary..we used to drive our friends batty as hell with it..to the point where well some of them just never came over anymore or rolled their eyes when we would pull something off the video store walls like some dubbed in kung-fu movie or slasher flick or bad sci-fi movie from the 80s...i think we were the king of the rewind..always the two who would notice a dummy being used..or a boommike knocking someone in the head...or bad dubbing..omg the bad dubbing was always a howl... we knew how to really pick out some doozies lemme tell ya! We started to sound like an R-rated version of those two old bastards from the Muppet Show!

I did last year do a piece on Escape From the Bronx for Robbblogs...the blog that NOBODY reads...well i start to wonder sometimes...here is what i wrote...

This slice of Italian cheese has the returning Mark Gregory and the bad dude from Buck Rogers...ummmm..ya Henry Silva....i remember when babbling on and on about Warriors of the Wasteland w/ the great Fred Williamson how the only flick the Italians saw for aboot five years in the 80s was The Warriors, Mad Max, The Road Warrior and Escape From New York...i swear i swear...

Acadia University Problems

Old Man Robb recently discovered a Facebook group called "Acadia Problems" located at http://www.facebook.com/#!/AcadiaProblems Anyways it seems that there are a few items they have listed are still as relevant as they were back in the glory days of when Old Man Robb was attending Acadia U full time..yes there are still times where i do miss the good ol days and well seeing this list takes me back a wee little bit..i shall post a few of my favorites with some of Old Man Robb's commentary included..

Random hook-up at the Axe...by Monday even your prof knows about it: Wow word must travel these days at Acadia U!
Every single thing about the elevators in Tower: Hey dude the things didn't work too well back in the 90s...i do remember girls from the second floor taking the elevator...i mean WTF?!?!?!
The Vil is the worst bar in Wolfville, but every Saturday night...you end up at the Vil: Isn't there only like two real bars? The Axe and the Vil? Why is it the worst? No more beat the clock on Tuesdays or something? Do they still make Anvil Burgers?
Wanna go to Meal Hall but you live in Barrax...wanna go to the gym but live in Tower: Add a snow and this makes it even worse
Get a craving, it's 9:05 PM and Mall Hall just closed: Do they still have exam treats? They used to make Rice Krispies squares and those Namino Bars and Hello Dolly's were good treats as well....
Tim Horton's doesn't deliver and its a whole four blocks away: Oh poor Muffin...now what i wanna about is how the hell does a KFC close down in Wolfville? I mean how the hell does that happen? A KFC closed in a college/ university town...Greco too...
Paddy's kitchen closed at 10:00 so you have to go to Joe's: Shouldn't that be the other way around? I have ALWAYS preferred Joe's to Paddys...
Prof assigns readings posted on Acorn, hasn't actually opened the course on Acorn yet: Ahhh..i used to have a prof who put the whole and i mean WHOLE freaking lesson on Acorn before our night class and nobody and i mean NOBODY showed up!!! You can't win...put it up before class and no one shows and put it up afterwards and no one shows either...
Apparently we aren't heating the BAC today: Add the SUB, Tower and every class not in the BAC to that list as well ok...
You spent $600 on textbooks last term- the bookstore offers to buy them back for pocket change: Well well well...Old Man Robb is glad to see that the more things change, the more they frickin stay the same! :)

Robb Hates The NHL All-Star Game

Hello folks and assorted wormslime.. long time eh? Well Old Man Robb has been busy with life, working and doing my Education 4863 course from Acadia U in preparation to take my practicum this summer...yes yes yes folks Robert Reid Hawley will be teaching this summer at Acadia U..for ten weeks only but it will be a dream come true for when i first walked around that campus in 1989 whoever thought that in the year 2012 i would actually get a chance to well teach there even if only for a brief period of time...

But that is not today's topic...

Ahem...

Now imagine you have a friend visiting you...just imagine that for a second and you know what? They want to watch their first ever ever ever game of professional ice hockey and the only option that you have on hand is the annual NHL All-Star Game...

What do you do?

Im sorry but i would be embarrassed if this was the way to first show someone the game of hockey for the first time.. here we have a collection of the very best that the NHL has to offer..well with the exception of Crosby and Ovechkin and a few other selected others... but what i see is a bunch of hockey players having a big ol game of shinny in front of a sold-out arena and people watching on national television..Gary Buttman... you wanna sell the game in North America? This is not the way to do it... ok ok so i don't expect the game to be the seventh game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs...but omg is this really it? No hitting..no goaltending,, no intensity..nor any emotion or any passion..nothing but a big ol skate...they might as well play outside on a pond in Ontario somewhere...

The game has changed..i know people who will not watch the all-star game whatsoever.. Don Cherry hates the All-Star Game... i would love a time travel machine so that i could go back in time to when it was the original six back when it would be the Stanley Cup champs versus a combination of the rest of the NHL...oldtimers like to tell me that it was a showcase for hockey seeing the champs play the rest of the league.. we didn't get these sad 11-9 scores or any of that.. the game meant something, the other team had a chance to show up the Stanley Cup champs...usually the Habs or the Maple Laughs back in the 60s...on the other hand it was a chance for the Stanley Cup Champs to show the rest of the league that they mean business...

Salaries..expansion...whose fault was it? The chase for the almighty dollar? The WHA? Players coming from overseas? Too much power given to either the players or the owners? The players just don't care about the All Star Game and it friggin well shows! When there’s nothing on the line but pride, it makes for a really boring game, because the top players sold their pride a long time ago.The All-Star Game needs something or if it is going to continue to be a sad display of nothingness than perhaps the game should be held after the season is over.. kind of like the NFL's Pro Bowl.....perhaps it is time to scrap the all star game altogether and just let the players have a break for four days or so in the middle of the season...

I know im better off doing something else when its time for the NHL All Star Game....don't sit home drinking beer and eating Jiffy Pop to watch a bunch of overpaid hockey players who just don't give a rats ass about the fans in the stands or the poor sap who is stuck watching this thing at home on the telly.. go watch an Axemen game at Acadia Arena.. those who don't like the odd scrap will be pleased as fighting results in a three game suspension or something like that.. go watch some kids trying their best down at the local arena..go catch a local hockey game..catch a West Kings game at the Kingston Arena or a game at the Appledome in Berwick or wait for next year to watch the World Juniors to see the next generation before they become NHL players.. do something but do not support this sad excuse to display the games best...

Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling Playlist

A staple of one's Maritime youth... before there was Vince McMahon and his glitzy WWF on Saturday's there was Emile Dupre's Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ATV. The time slot changed around every now and then and the cards were usually held during the summer months as places on the tour like the Halifax Forum, The Sydney Forum and the Berwick Arena had the ice in...but however when hockey season was over it was time for some good old fashioned wrestling and the people had their favorites too like Leo Burke and Big Stephen Pettipas and the ol fashioned bad guys like Killer Karl Krupp, No Class Bobby Bass and some who switched over like the Cuban Assassin.. good memories....Grand Prix was revived in the late 90s with a hugely successful legends tour and continued to tour the Maritimes until the summer of 2008...i think it is time for another Grand Prix revival...agree?

How many people die in Death Wish 3?

Ahhh..one of my favorite guilty pleasures in life has always been the Death Wish series starring Charles Bronson....The Death Wish series contains five movies about Charles Bronson going around beating up, mangling and killing bad guys that are somewhere between half his age to one fourth of his age...

The original from 1974 has always been critically acclaimed all of that good stuff...but the Cannon Years for Bronson..perhaps sentimental memories of renting them from the Dairy Bar next to Lloyds in the Passage or those numerous times they repeated on TBS or WGN or one of those channels...it seemed there was never a time where you could not find a Bronson or Chuck Norris or some other fine Cannon production on the ol boob tube...esp after 12 midnight...or 10 to Midnight (Another Bronson classic from 1983)

But right now...im talking Death Wish 3...from 1985...Remember when action movies contained blood and boobs worth an R-rating? When action movies had real explosions and no CGI? When action movies starred real men and not some model GQ pansy? This was the age when the manliest man of the twentieth century roamed the silver screen, his name was Charles Bronson and Death Wish 3 was the best of them all...

I remember watching it on VHS as i was too young to have seen it in theaters back in 85...however while having a Bronson marathon while i lived in Crowell Tower back in the good ol days at Acadia U was when Death Wish 3 really...i mean really took off...the only movie that got more repeats was when i purchased Shogun Assassin on an archaic VHS while at Mount A back in 2003... let`s get back to Death Wish 3...shall we?

I remember reading a review of Death Wish 3 where the reviewer stated that Death Wish 3 is not a continuation, nor is it an advancement of characters or plot lines; it is only a 90 minute turkey shoot. A madhouse of rape, torture, brutality, explosions, and savage murder without even a hint of story.....well ya i guess they got that part right... but hey this is all about the Bronsoninator and omg the body count in this puppy...i mean Death Wish 3 is not going to win any awards except the Old Man Robb Movie of the yr for 1985...the Cannon Memorial Award...gosh those crazy Cannon Pictures Golan-Globus guys were geniuses...

Well maybe not all the time...

The key to enjoying DEATH WISH 3 is to accept it for what it is. It ain't indoor bullstuff and it ain't art. So throw some Jiffypop on the stove and get some wobblepops and watch Bronson's finest 90 minutes or so...

Oh ya and by the way there is a documentary coming out about Cannon Pictures entitled "Electric Bugaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Pictures" A theatrical release is being planned for late 2012...

It's been a long time folks....

Well how does one go aboot writing one of these thingies? Well you start back at the beginning of 2011...can any of you remember back that darn far? Well here goes nothing..hop on...

Don't fall off...

Well started the year by seeing Sue The Dinosaur, then an oldtimers hockey game in WolfVegas with Don Cherry's twin brother ron and Alexander Ovechkin's sister Alexandra, went to Ross Farms for the first time since Grade Primary, went to the Birthplace of Hockey in Windsor on Howard Dill's land...suck it up everyone hockey was born in NOVA SCOTIA! Met Brutus Beefcake and Billy Gunn and some dude dressed as the Ultimate Warrior in Canning of all places, saw Superman's telephone booth somewhere over the mountain with Barry and Michelle, saw Grease on stage in Annapolis Royal, saw the new Hall of Fame in Windsor located at Haliburton Home, tried the Double Down and lived, saw Justin reach his limit at the legendary Turkey Burger, they finally listened to me and had Retro Night at the Valley Drive-in, had visits to Rissers Beach, Crystal Falls and another Middleton car show, made it up to the Passage before Lloyds was gone for good :(... witnessed the biggest concert crowd in the history of the Annapolis Valley Ex for Trooper and saw the Dropkick Murphys at the Fabulous Forum in Hfx and met Ken Casey after the show, me, Barry and Michelle finally found the Hippy Houses, met and hung out with Randy and Lahey at Doolies and finally...OMG finally the Acadia Axemen Football team beat SMU and won the Jewett Trophy in front of a packed house at Raymond Field....

Oh ya and i got accepted to do my TESOL practicum at Acadia U this coming April....not bad for a dude who was told he was not going to last a year at Acadia back in 98....someone else said here comes another failure...hope they and some other people are eating crow right now...

I think Dad is watching over me still...miss ya big guy :)

It was the year of the dead dictator...good riddance Mommar, Kim-Jung and Osama...

The Habs took the Bruins to the limit in the playoffs and well suck this year so far...

Oh ya im going to see Deep Purple on the 5th of Feb...if this was 1972 everyone would think this was one cool development...

2012? Does the world end? What other bs is there? Does Hfx get some rocking concerts? Do i get my TESOL teaching licence? Do i stay in Canada? Does Hfx get to see of the Stones or Beach Boys 50th Anniversary tours? Will Axl and Slash fight on stage at the rock n roll hall of fame? Oh well only time shall tell...

FINALLY a frickin ROCK show is coming to Halifax...to the Halifax Metro Centre...ladies and gentlemen...wormslime of all ages...frickin DEEP PURPLE is FINALLY booked to play Halifax...
Old Man Robb remembers around 1984 when Deep Purple reformed..however his first real Purple listening experience was borrowing his old pal Jason's "24 Carot Purple" album...yes kiddies i know i know..VINYL...that he had bought at Tracks and Paperbacks in Dartmouth...now how many of you rememember Tracks and Paperbacks and whatever happened to them?!?!?!? Ol Jay's record was kinda scratched up but what can you expect for being bought in the 99 cent section?!?!?!

Yes after listening and well thinking the band was pretty happening Old Man Robb remembers recieving "Perfect Strangers" for Christmas that year along with Helix, Ratt and Twisted Sister and well i think it was a cassette that was worn out by Old Man Robb...then realizing that Ian Gillan dude was the same dude that was in Sabbath the year before for the awesome Born Again album...i always heard that Gillan threw up when he saw the infamous baby devil cover of the Born Again album...and so Mr Ian Gillan finally comes to Halifax just like he should have back in 83 with the Sabs...i heard the story about the Stonehenge stage and about how it was too big for the Metro Centre and how it inspired the same story in "This is Spinal Tap"

Spam Burgers Recipie

Believe it or not webslingers i used to make these things while i was teaching in South Korea...now now you might or might not believe Old Man Robb on this one...but Spam in S Korea is popular with rice and well i remember going into the supermarker in Pyeongtaek where i lived and there it could be bought as a gift set..a luxury item..i had the parents of one of my students present me with a Spam gift basket..Spam outranks many other North American imports in S Korea It all started whenSpam was introduced to Korea during the Korean War (1950-1953) by American soldiers that were serving over there ...the Korean War had created wide-spread hunger and military importation of food items like Spam was a great relief to the Korean people and Spam was a popular food item in S Korea just took off from there..... in places like Hawaii you can get Spam for breakfast in places like Burger King and Raunchy Ron's... in Hawaii it is referred to as "Hawaiian Steak"...that is the popularity of Spam in Hawaii...crazyness eh?

Anywho...here is the recipie for Spam Burgers...

Ingredients

1 (12 ounce) container SPAM
4 hard-cooked eggs
4 ounces Cheddar cheese, cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
6 slices bacon, cut in half
6 hamburger buns
Preheat your oven's broiler.
Combine the lunch meat, eggs, cheese and onion in a food processor, or run them through a grinder.
Once everything is minced, stir in enough of the mayonnaise to hold it together.
Spoon equal amounts of the mixture onto open buns, and place two pieces of bacon on top of each one.
Broil a few inches from the heat for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp.

Well i have not been wanting to jinx things for the Axemen by me babbling and babbling on and on aboot them...however it is like Christmas this coming Saturday..the Axemen are hosting SMU in the Loney Bowl...no no not SMU hosting us or STFX or whatever...us hosting them...

Yes folks this is big news...to Old Man Robb

The Axemen are coming off their best season since 1986-87 where they also went 7-1...SMU is chasing their fifth straight AUS Football Championship and would love to spoil the party by doing it at Raymond Field on Saturday...

Need i remind everyone that the home team is 9-0 in the title game...that is a long streak... i want to see the Axemen keep that streak going...they need to get rid of this mindset of we can't beat SMU..that is nonsense..we can beat SMU...we lost one game this season and it was to SMU but guess what..we also just SMU just two short weeks ago and that has to be a confidence builder right then and there...

It is our time...our game and now is the chance to put SMU's Loney Bowl streak to an end...

Don tends to think what he says on the program actually has an effect on the players. ex. "Jason Spezza, Jason Spezza, what a kid, I tell him to put the puck on the net and he'll score. See here, watch this. Is it playing? allright now watch this, Spezza shoots the puck and it goes in the net, atta boy Jason, I tell him to shoot the puck and he does and what do you know he scores."

Ron MacLean serves as Cherry's Handler. If anyone wonders how a redneck loudmouth such as Cherry can be so popular, they might want to look at the brains behind the braun. Without MacLean's subtle responses and cool punecdotes, Cherry would either have become a loathed sergeant-major letting off steam near the Kandahar front, or a grocery store supervisor once again lamenting the condition of the squashed raisin bread.

Kelly Hrudey is MacLean's sidekick when Coach's Corner is finished. Hrudey is famous for being that goalie who cost Gretzky's King's to lose the Stanley Cup to Patrick Roy's Quebec Separatists.

There is no Ron MacLean fan club, but he knows he has masses of soft-spoken supporters ready to speak out should he wish another raise.

With Grapes so much in the news lately i've been pondering about the original Rock Em Sock Em Hockey Videos starting with the original which i recieved for Christmas circa 1989...it kind of started an Old Man Robb Christmas tradition which has lasted to this day...every year for Christmas, Robb recieves the latest Don Cherry video... however i've wondered about the earlier videos..isn't it time for a Rock Em Sock Em Boxset on DVD? Blu-Ray? Put at least the first ten Rock Em Sock Em Hockey videos in one set and the next ten in the other...i would buy for sure... what a time capsule to see hockey before the latest round of expansion, the instigator rule, Gary Buttman...Grapes had yet to start to resemble Colonel Saunders...and not half looney like he seems to be these days...

Personally i don't think Don is the problem...he does what most of us are afraid to do and that is speak his mind..many look at Don like an old uncle who no one listens to anymore..but i do believe Cherry speaks from the heart..he does not speak for all of us and in this case he jumped the gun..Cherry loves the sport of hockey and is a strong supporter of the game...he comes from another time where players played hurt..played for the love of the game and played knowing the next season could be their last..from a time of pre-expansion, of a time where the game was Canadian dominated, where a helmet on a player was a strange sight... where men were men and shut up and played...hockey was yet to be corporate dominated...diluted by expansion which in turn diluted the hockey talent pool... anyways im off topic... carried away..much like one Donald S Cherry...however this time involved three guys that played hockey the tough way that Don likes...

This latest controversy with Grapes is a bunch of baloney...Cherry has his opinons and is not afraid to state them no matter what. I think Cherry should be given a wee bit of respect from his haters for sticking to his guns so to speak. I agree that fighting should stay in the game..what needs to go is this chicken shit stuff like the high elbows, the head hunting, blind sided hits and the hitting from behind... Remove the fights? We wouldn't be watching hockey anymore..we would be watching ringette for gosh sakes! Cherry apologized for his comments because he likes Stu Grimson, Chris Nilan and Jim Thomson and he knew in his own mind that this time he had crossed the line....plus CBC knows that the minute they let Cherry go from HNIC that TSN, The Score, ESPN, Sportsnet...one of them would swoop Grapes up in a second and be trying to woo Ron to go with him....last thing CBC wants is to turn on TSN and hear the ORIGNAL HNIC theme and Don/Ron there to go with it....

Writer's Block...

Writer's block is a condition, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work. The condition varies widely in intensity. It can be trivial, a temporary difficulty in dealing with the task at hand. At the other extreme, some "blocked" writers have been unable to work for years on end, and some have even abandoned their careers. It can manifest as the affected writer viewing their work as inferior or unsuitable, when in fact it could be the opposite.

Writer's block may have many or several causes. Some are essentially creative problems that originate within an author's work itself. A writer may run out of inspiration. The writer may be greatly distracted and feel he or she may have something that needs to be done beforehand. A project may be fundamentally misconceived, or beyond the author's experience or ability.

Other blocks, especially the more serious kind, may be produced by adverse circumstances in a writer's life or career: physical illness, depression, the end of a relationship, financial pressures, a sense of failure. The pressure to produce work may in itself contribute to a writer's block, especially if they are compelled to work in ways that are against their natural inclination, i.e. too fast or in some unsuitable style or genre. In some cases, writer's block may also come from feeling intimidated by a previous big success, the creator putting on themselves a paralyzing pressure to find something to equate that same success again.

A usually temporary psychological inability to begin or continue work on a piece of writing.

Clearly some inspiration is all that is needed....

The Charles Bronson/ Death Wish Drinking Game...

If you have seen any of the Death Wish movies (there are five of them) with Charles Bronson than you already know that they are the most violent movies with corny acting. Well we turned it into a drinking game. Basically if you have a Death Wish the you must play the Death Wish Challenge.

The Rules:
1. One Drink every time Charles Bronson Kills someone.
2. Two Drinks when anyone else kills someone
3. Three drinks every time a rape occurs (it would be 4 drinks if they get raped then killed)
4. If Charles Bronson sleeps with someone then they get killed its four drinks (Don't add 1 because someone other than Charles Bronson killed her its only 4)
5. Five drinks anytime the person killed is clearly a manakin
6. Finish your drink anytime Charles Bronson blows someone up
7. If the killing is done by a machine gun or any automatic weapon its a waterfall (drink til the killing stops)

Special Rules if you really want to get wasted (add one drink when these happen):
1. Double kills add one drink
2. When Charles Bronson says a cheezy line (viewers discretion)
3. Whenever Charles Bronson eats ice cream
4. Whenever Charles Bronson shoots an unarmed person that is begging for mercy or looking right at him. Basically when its execution style.

PS. some of the movies start out very slow don't get discouraged the killing will be rampant at least at the end. The first two are also the most panzy the third and following movies are the hardcore ones.

1 oz Heaven Hill® bourbon whiskey
1 oz Jim Beam® bourbon whiskey
1 oz Old Grandad® bourbon whiskey
1 oz Jim Beam® rye whiskey

Hello folks! Its been a long time eh? Well what in the world has old man Robert Reid Hawley the first been up to? Well hopefully this new collage that i made with Picasa will shed some light on the situation...

So what have i been up to? Well i went with old friends for a night on the town in WolfVegas, me and Barry went to Retro night at the Valley Drive-In located in Coldbrook which featured Smokey and the Bandit and Jaws, went with my Momma to Mahone Bay and found a Pirate Store, went to Haliburton House in Windsor and they finally had the new hockey hall of fame wing ready for public display, went to the Fireman's Museum in Yarmouth where they also still have a KFC/Taco Bell, went to Risser's Beach with Barry and Michelle, saw the new display at the Greenwood Museum Air Park, took a random drive to the Passage, saw the Dropkick Murphys at the Multi-Purpose Center at the Halifax Forum and met and had my picture taken with Ken Casey the co-lead singer of the Dropkick Murphys, went with Barry and Michelle to Crystal Falls which i had not visited since the summer of 1991 and polished off the week with a trip to the vintage car show at the North Hills Museum and also visited the Old St Edwards Church Museum which was founded by Loyalists in 1797, went to the Tupperville School Museum but it was closed...whew...

Oh yes there is something i must babble on about before i go...

1)What's your goal? Ahhh...TESOL Certificate, but i am also looking at getting my CELTA once i am finished with my practicum...

2)Is it important to read alot? I think one should read alot..why? As stupid as it may sound to you, its good to keep up on things, read the paper everyday, know what is going on in your city or town, read something relevant.. reading can also be a good conversation starter. Conversation skills are a good thing to have..some have them..some don't have them...maybe when they don't have them its a sign to move on...

3)Last movie you watched? The Warriors of the Wasteland aka The New Barbarians...cool to see Fred Williamson..but omg did Italians watch any other movies between 1979-1985 besides The Warriors, Mad Max, The Road Warrior and Escape From New York??!!?!??

4)What day would you love to live again? My graduation day from Acadia U back in May of 2003...the family was there and it really felt like it was my day, it was retribution for all the bullshit that had been flung at me over the years, all those people..including people whom are supposed to be close to me saying stuff (Well behind my back and never to my face saying stuff) about how this is going to be another flop for Robb...some were just bad judges of talent, of character and it is nice to see them get egg on their face...especially on that afternoon when one of those so-called judges of talent could not even turn around and look at me...why? I honestly thought the drive-in would never give into the endless requests that me and other people were sending for the past few yrs to have a retro night...just one night to see how it would good..judging by the buzz im hearing, the word of mouth on Facebook and the rest..well it looks like Thursday night at the Valley Drive-in located in Coldbrook will have a good sized crowd on their hands...

Yes true believers...Smokey and Jaws..Burt, Jackie and Bruce The Shark for your entertainment pleasure!!! Wonder if they are going to be in original formats? As in reel to reel? 35 mm format? Viewmaster?!?! Whatever the case may be it shall be good times....Wonder what other kinds of promotions will be happening on Thursday night? I know its going to be $10 a carload which will rule the school...but wonder if maybe food will be 70s prices or perhaps some vintage trailers as well.....

Old Man Robb is some forgetful today i tell you...must be all this fresh Valley air...anywho while i was out Saturday morning at the local recyclers (Where i got a fortune of a whole $3.55!!!) i noticed something that was kind of an institution in Canada...the "Stubby" beer bottle...

Now what is a stubby you ask Old Man Robb??!?! Let's consult Wikipedia...

Prior to 1961, Canadian beer was sold, and served, in two sizes, colloquially known as "quarts" and "pints," or "large" and "small." They were 22 and 12 Imperial fluid ounces (625 and 341 mL), respectively, whereas a true Imperial quart was 40 fluid ounces. Over the years, some provinces banned the sale of beer in the larger bottle. For example, in Ontario in the 1950s only the pint could be sold, but in Quebec both sizes were about equally common. In 1961, both sizes were replaced, nationwide, by the standardized bottle, equal in volume to the "small" and affectionately known as the "stubby."

Stubbies are a type of bottle which is shorter and with a slightly larger diameter than the now predominant longneck bottle. So...i have my tickets for Dropkick Murphys at the Forum, went to Hampton Beach, found the oddest house in the world in Hampton, went to the church of the Expulsion of the Acadians, tried deep fried dill pickles (they were ok) the Double Down (ummmm not that awesome) and a trip to the Turkey Burger in New Germany and watched my friend Justin eat a Stepladder Burger...went to the Northville Farm Heritage Centre, Haliburton House (the New Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit was not ready...) Fort Anne, the Annapolis Royal Generating Station (Which is the only tidal generating station in North America), Racers Rec Room in Lakeview (Which is only open for private functions.. too bad) and the annual Middleton Car Show...phew...

All done that for now...

The frickin riots in Vancouver...

I mean WTF?!?!? I hope these people that caused this mess realize they have ruined everything that Canada achieved at the 2010 Winter Olympics. People are saying oh these people are not true fans, hooligans etc etc...however i saw a lot of blue jerseys on the news looting, fighting and stealing shit from the stores as well...cars set on fire, people bloodies and beaten on the streets...to see this crap all over CNN and other news outlets...its embaressing as a hockey fan and as a proud Canadian and Maritimer to see shit flung at us by the media for what happened out there in Vancouver...the Canucks lost to the Bruins...that's it...that is all..they lost..how many other teams have lost game seven before? Lots...heartbreaking? Yes...but to go rip the shit out of your city makes one wonder....

Speaking of the Canucks...what happened? I never in my life have witnessed a team looking so unmotivated for a game seven in my entire life...the Bruins and i cannot believe im writing this as a lifelong Habs fan, deserved to win that game! What happened to the Sedins? The invisable twins is more like it..and i hope Luongo is not going to ask for a raise anytime soon...sure he was great at the Olympics..but he had a frickin all star team playing in front of him at the Olympics, not the Canucks...

I want to be an ESL teacher right here in good ol Canada after completing my TESOL program through Open Acadia..completing my final course and then doing my practicum..hopefully in January. Last thing i want to do is go back overseas and teach for another bunch of profiteers...

I looked this up...McDonald's has never sold hot dogs in America. I think Macho is awesomness personified..but have any of you out there in blog land ever notice the simularities between the posters for the Breakfast Club and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2?!?!? The Breakfast Club poster came first back in 1985, TCM Part 2 a year later...and all these years Old Man Robb never never made the connection..must be something in the Valley air...

Ahh the memories of our Betamax...ya ya ya all you good people and wormslime are probably wondering WTF is Old Man Robb talking aboot now...well Beta was all the rage in the early 80s and arguably was a better format than VHS was..however some what killed the Betamax format was the underlying fact that a regular old Betamax cassette lasted oh about an hour/ two hours or so..you couldnt record a full lengh movie on the thing or get two movies on the same cassette and well VHS you could get up to oh six hours of recording time..perfect for recording movies/ tv shows back in the day...of course both formats would be made obsolete by digital technology...plus on both formats for the most part we watched some pretty horrid pan and scan transfers of movies...

Ok...lost track...yes after my first batch of movie rentals, which included the Cannonball Run, Shogun Assassin and some other goodies, i remember wanting to watch flicks with that Bruce Lee dude..esp after seeing him in all of his glory in Enter The Dragon at the Sackville Drive-in, back when you could sneak a movie on as a second feature some seven/ eight years after its original theatrical run... i remember Fists of Fury (aka The Big Boss) quite well...very well on repeated Betamax rentals...i do have a soft spot i must admit for the inept dubbing and the scene where Bruce drinks and gets trashed..that and when Bruce smacks some thug through the factory wal, leaving a hole that perfectly matches the shape of his body (Think Looney Tunes)...ahhh good times...

Hey...its that time of year again, a time to reflect and remember. I could beat myself to death thinking why and how come and why did it it happen to be my Dad...if i sat around and did that i would drive myself nuts i think..all i can do is remember the good times..the first thirty five years of my life it was a privilege and an honor to know my Dad..to know Dad was pure joy... not a day went by without a smile, a giggle or a word of encouragement..something that others don't know how to do, they think they have such rotten lives they have to take it out on someone else. Dad could have the crappiest day in the world and come back with a verbal jab, something witty and have the whole room smiling again, instead of those people who come in a room and suck the life totally out of it. Dad could walk in a room and be the center of attention, conversing with everyone in it, or be the quiet one, sipping his coffee and observing everything happening and in his mind taking notes.

When someone your close to or love passes away, we ache..it hurts like hell..but we all must find a way to go on..Dad wouldnt want me sitting around everyday second guessing myself, wondering what to do and over analyzing everything and or everyone..alot has happened to me since Dad's gone..i've gone and seen the world..well at least Japan and S Korea.. i've gone back to school and now i am one credit...one measily credit short of completing my TESOL at Acadia U...well that and my practicum...but i thinks to myself..would Dad really be proud? He seemed to be my biggest fan/supporter all those years when i had the nutty idea at the age of twenty seven of going to university full time...he was the only one who believed...others said oh won't last a year...here comes another Kingstec... Dad was the only one who basically said go for what you want...

Dad if i could bring you back..what would you think? What would you say? I wanna chat to you so bad...i wanna know am i doing the right thing? Is everything going to be ok? If i could have Dad back for an hour...a day...what would he say to me? Would he be happy? Would he shake his head or make one of his famous wisecracks? I guess i will never really know eh? I would love to communicate..find a way...i know i sound nuts and completely off my rocker..but we were so close...i don't know...i feel his presence sometimes..around the house, when i am in familiar places we liked..especially when i am in the dungeon downstairs as he affectionately called it... watching hockey or some old action movie on the telly... i hear his hearty laugh..his peanut gallery comments or how he was the ultimate armchair quarterback..going and on commentating back to the tv during a game or even a show or movie...things that still get a giggle out of me to this day...

I guess now it is time to end this post...just want to say miss you Dad..love you and i miss you always.... hope you are someway..somehow watching over me, the family and somehow perhaps guiding our everyday lives from a distance wherever it is that you shall be..i hold my head high and hope that somehow you are smiling whereever you are

It's a wee bit of a weird coincidence..but in the weeks leading up to Macho Man Randy Savage's tragic death i was getting a good chuckle out of these pics that had been showing up on Facebook on a page called "Where's Randy Savage?" , kind of modelled after "Where's Waldo" except it was WWE legend Randy Savage in a variety of different situations mixed in with Star Wars characters, Obama, Superman, Three's Company to name but a few..but my all time favorite has to be the one pictured below of Macho w/ Sly Stallone in Rocky III...

Let the pictures tell the story...let's see let's see...ok i got it..since i last wrote on here to go on and on and on aboot me life..Old Man Robb has seen two strange Superman sightings right here in the good ol Valley, visited a cave in Morden, tried Newfy Poutine, went to the site of the Expulsion of the Acadians, met Brutus Beefcake at a UCW show, saw a stage production of Grease in Annapolis Royal, saw the return of the Shamrock Shake, welcomed a new puppy named Molly to the family, saw a boat named after me, bought a new Axemen Football t-shirt, attended the world's largest flea market in Kentville, bought my new textbook and visited the site of the birthplace of hockey on Howard Dill's Farm in Windsor...phew....

I was shocked to hear of the passing of Macho Man Randy Savage last week...one of my all time favorites from the 80s heyday of the WWF..loved seeing Savage beat up on ham and eggers every Saturday morning on Superstars of Wrestling...his feuds with Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat and the Honkytonk Man...the lovely Elizabeth...the first time i saw WWF at the Halifax Forum in 1987...Savage Vs Hogan..Savage taking a swipe at some dude backstage for some reason i still dont know...good times...

If only my local drive-in located in Coldbrook, NS would do something this frickin cool....this drive-in is located in Linden, Pennsylvania and well...i almost cried in a fit of jealousy when i saw the ad...

Too many good vintage flicks...now don't get me wrong its cool that we have a local drive-in left and its a nostalgia thing, like pulling out some 8-tracks and or listening to some vinyl...however like the cinema located in Wolfville, i just wish those theatres would cater to the nostalgia buffs like myself and a few others...now they say no one would show up...they would say hey people can rent those old movies and or gasp...download them...but there is nothing funner to me than watching those old flicks on the big screen..in many ways watching movies at home helped to kill the poor drive-ins...before straight to video, b movies would have life in grindhouse theatres and at drive-ins... its really too bad..its nice with surround sound and flatscreens and all...but damn the fun of ten or so friends in a car..or just a blind date with naughty intentions, take some lawn chairs, the small bbq...fun times...

How did this guy get to be 40?!?!?!?

Anywho that is what was this week's big event...how do i feel at 40? Have i accomplished everything there is to accomplish in this world? Yes and no...it just took me a little longer and im not really done yet..i haven't peaked yet.. im getting there believe me, but this stuff just takes time, but like Dad used to say it will all come out in the wash.. it was nice to see lots of people wish me a happy bday and well others didn't..either they forgot or well..they just didn't...some somehow someway still stay on my Facebook, i should really clean that thing up someday shouldn't i?

Still lots of work to do..i am now two down, one to go with my TESOL..waiting till summer to start it up again, in order to qualify for my practicum i have to be presently enrolled..that is the major reason for taking a couple of months off..besides it gives me a chance to save some $$$...but it is being done the honest way..im EARNING it..no free handouts..no free rides kiddies..no silver spoon stuck in me yam here like other folks who just have everything handed to them on a silver platter and don't appreciate the little things as much.. to actually have to work for something means something...

There is much more to Old Man Robb than meets the eye....sure i've come full circle...sure im working at Andrew's..but i am still hungry..well not hungry in the gimmie some Forklift Burgers..(Well just one of those will do) but hungry in that there is much more to accomplish.. how will i feel going into that Acadia classroom at the age of 40, not to sit and to take notes, not to give some powerpoint presentation, but to actually be at the front of the classroom and educating students while being graded on it...i guess im not the person who people really think i am...and you think you know me..some of you pigeonhole me..think you know all that there is to know..

There is more to me than sillyness ya know...

Personally i wish i had celebrated at Abdullah The Butcher's House of Ribs...someday i will get there..its on the extended bucketlist...

Yes i will accomplish my goals..folks..age is just a number..that is all it is..many people still do great things at later ages, sure i might be getting some grey hair..but i still have all of my hair.. sure im not exactly at where i wanna be in life..but its coming..it really is..i just wish people weren't so quick to write off other people, but they have their own agendas, and their lives are so dull that it is easy to put down others, why? It makes them fell important...its too bad those people get to stay in this world and the good people like my Dad have to go... i wish he was here now..hope he's proud of me :)

What does this mean to Old Man Robb Hawley?

There is a whole range of emotions to tell you the honest truth...i feel relief...im glad i can go onto my next course which will be Education 4863: The Aquisition of Language...then when i am past that, perhaps in the Fall i can do my practicum where i will observe over 10 hours of ESL classes and teach 10 hours of classes...then i will recieve the Acadia University Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages which is accredited by TESL Canada... scary...very scary..but i do accept the challenge...
This time i am not going to take a loan through the bank, i am going to save up my money through working for the next two months, well hopefully two months as i have to pay to renew my driver's licence by or on the day of my birthday and or i won't be driving at all... perhaps it works out because i have to be enrolled in Education 4863 in order to take my practicum... so perhaps it all works out.

Ooops...i said the word birthday didn't i?

In nine days someone i know named Robb Hawley is turning 40 yrs of age...did i really think i would make it to 40?!?!?!?!? With some of the things that have come and gone in this life, some of the awesomeness i have experienced as well as some of the bs i have endured both in the past and currently... what does one wish for with a milestone of a bday? For the status quo? For the Jeep i have always wanted? Van Halen to play my bday just like Spicoli's in Fast Times at Ridgemount High? Wishing my Dad was here to talk to and to hear some of his wisdom? Hell i didn't even think i would reach 30 at one time...heck i didn't even think i would pass high school at one time..or hold down a job...or graduate university and or see the world like i have... i have much to be happy for..despite having the 24 hour flu for the past 24 hours and well..pretty much wiping out the weekend..

However...there are those who like to keep others down..make them feel like shit...why? Is there some discrepancy is your lives that make you feel better when you make others feel miserable? Some reason why you must make others when they feel happy all of a sudden feel shitty? There are those of us who truly believe that they know everything and yet know nothing at the same time. Really...what do you really get out of it? I think some love the power surge that they get from instigating arguements. I know i am a better man..i am above getting in the mud and slinging..but cmon for fuck sakes... there are certain things i am glad that there is a time limit on...for my sanity and for the sanity of other people...

The above also goes for Charlie Sheen, Moammar Gadhafi and a few numerous others...will Charlie Sheen last the rest of this year? And so much turmoil in Libya with Gadhafi losing much control of his own country... the world is a wacky place i tells ya....

So what else has been happening in Old Man Robb's world the last few weeks or so?

Well went to see the hockey Axemen's last home game of the regular season..a loss to UPEI, before the game was fun as me and ol Blair went to the Mudcreek and had Axemen Burgers and to the closing CD Plus in New Minas and well Blair cleaned out the place while i grabbed a couple of Alice Cooper's stranger albums- Zipper Catches Skin from 1982 and DaDa from 83..both which i had long ago on cassette (Remember those?) after the game despite the losing effort the Axemen honored their commitment for an autograph session on the ice..all the kids loved it and it was nice to see athletes give back to the fans...

I might have to finally get a Blu-Ray Player...

I took in the annual Pans All Star Game against the Maritime All-Stars up at Acadia Arena..it was fun as there was an Alexender Ovechkin impersonator by the name of Alexandra Overchkin, the refereee was known as Ravishing Ricky and one of the coaches was Ron Cherry, the "brother" of Don... lots of fun...i wish they had done an autograph session after the game like the Axemen had done... but that is besides the point..plus it was the only time i had ever seen a cop car get stuck on the ice at Acadia Arena...

It was quite an emotional series last weekend against UNB... the Axemen lost the first game 4-0..and then lost game two after what? Four overtimes? Axemen goalie Kristopher Westbloom stopped some 77 shots which must be some sort of record and the Axemen won the third game and narrowly lost game four by a score of 3-2...nothing to be ashamed of at all... however what is sad to me was the attendance factor... due to work i could not get out to the games.. but where was everyone else? I saw row after row of empty seats....what is the deal? We had the #1 team in the east in here playing us two games in a row and we came close..darn close to defeating them... just makes me shake my head when i think about it that's all...

Can't wait till next year...

Can't wait for the UCW show at the Halifax Forum on April 28th..besides Jerry Lawler and Ted Dibiase, Brutus Beefcake has been added to the card..

Last weekend was another one that was quite interesting..it was my first trip to New Ross Farms since oh...the 2nd grade...which means some 30 years... pretty nostalgic to see how they lived all those yrs ago... i really enjoyed the one room schoolhouse...hopefully those won't be back in style by the time i get to teach... my only gripe was they need to get some salt or sand on the ground..it was pretty slippery walking around out there...

It was also my first visit to the Foxhill Cheesehouse...a wee bit on the expensive side, but they do have free samples and you do get a peak into how the cheese is made...plus they have bottled milk..something that has not been seen for eons...

Finally tried the Scotchos at Joe's...they were ok...

Ended the afternoon watching the Axemen defeat Memorial...last night on Eastlink i watched the Axemen pull a major upset over CBU only to fall to defeat today to Dalhousie...they will still get a chance next week at the Final 8 at the Metro Centre

Whew!

I think that is going to be about it for now folks...finally over this stomach bug thingy and back to the grind tomorrow...have a good one...

Slasher classic shot in Sydney Mines, NS in 1981...butchered by the MPAA and the lost scenes were well...thought lost until the producer found them while cleaning out the closet in his office. Re-released due to the 2009 remake (Which could have been alot worse...good 3D) which goes to show you if there is a highly anticipated remake/ re-imagining on the way, Hollyweird, in this case Paramount (Should be called Cashamount for all the DVD re-releases they have done...) will find things thought lost...all in the name of $$$...

It was another classic that i saw for the first time around 1986..rented it from the Dairy Bar in the Passage and i thought it was awesome..all the Canadian accents and all of the Moosehead product placement and the Nova Scotia scenery helped as well as the creepyness of the mine and the killer had an awesome miner outfit (Something the remake didn't screw around with...thank God)

A real slasher classic..i rate it up there with Freddy, Jason, Leatherface and Michael Myers (From Halloween...not the actor...) A good way to spend this depressing day...

Hard to believe that there is not any other footage floating around of Sabbath's Born Again tour, their only tour with singer Ian Gillan..this night at the Montreal Forum back in 83 is said to be the only known tour footage...they were supposed to play at the Halifax Metro Centre as well as Moncton, but it is said that the concert was cancelled due to the stage set being too damn big..or some crazy BS like that...

Hmm...if one dwells on the past too much they will drive themselves bonkers..many things i think about..a silly one is i wish Dad would have gotten posted to Greenwood in 1988 instead of 1990...i would have gotten out of school quicker.. i wish i had not left Acadia in 2005...sometimes done this and done that..but some of these things happened for a reason and i think for the most part it was for the best..don't be angry that some of this stuff is over, if it is a good memory, be happy that it happened. :)

The BIG 500th Post

Wow...roll out the cake and the Dr Pepper i guess....Robbblogs...The Confessions of Old Man Robb is finally celebrating its LONG overdue 500th post...i was thinking to myself this post would have came alot sooner than it did..sitting in the Sub, at Perkins back in 2004 and wanting to spout off about life and so Robbblogs was born..500 posts ago... Why was it born? There were things that i wanted to say at the time, things i wanted to get off my mind that were on my mind...that necessity to find that happy place or just a place...somewhere... so to speak where i could really let it out what the hell it was that i was thinking about...

I remember it was fairly simple..i was ready to be interviewed by a friend at the time for the Ath (The Acadia Student Newspaper) after my year at Mount A...and it was going to be a timely interview as well because Mount A was beating Acadia in those MacLeans Canadian University rankings and we had questions set and everything..it was going to be talking about the differences between Acadia and Mount A and well everything from classes to student life in residence was going to be addressed...and at a personal level too, not some corporate shrill talking about campus life and how oh yeah blab blab blab you will love it here or there...why BS people? However if you tell them the truth about stuff then there is that chance that they are going to go somewhere else instead...

Well her moron of an editor put a stop to it and said it was going to be a bashing interview, nobody would want to read it...blab blab blab...just a bunch of bs... that combined with the fact that Acadia U had no radio station at that point in time left me frustriated...especially after having a great year on CHMA up at Mount A w/ Assume The Position... i found i had alot of pent-up frustriation happening and i just wanted an outlet to say what it was that i wanted to say at that particular point in time...i guess the best way to do such a things was to show my frustriations was to show my emotions through writing on here...all too often i have kept many things to myself and its not healthy to do that...it builds and it builds and it builds...sometimes though one has to say what is one their mind and other people aren't going to like it...perhaps that is why one keeps to themselves..it keeps their family..their friends and their reputation...

Alot has changed since that day in Oct of 2004....went to Acadia U that year...took time off to be with my ailing father whom passed on in June of 2006 (RIP Dad)...went to Japan in 2007...S Korea in 2008 and i worked the whole time i was home as well...at Andrews and at Acrobat..there was an attempt to move to Kentville last summer and that didn't turn out as planned,..also something i worked every hard to get was stolen away from me by some coward who can't admit or face up to what he did...something he will never achieve in this lifetime..my body of work was sold out probably for a quick fix and that eats at me..something that my late Father gave me is gone forever..i hope that person can live with himself...nuff said about that.....however the best news was that in October of 2009 i made my return to Acadia U through Open Acadia and now i am presently working on recieving my TESOL Teaching License..almost done part 2 and going forward...imagine if Robert Reid Hawley becomes a licensed ESL Teacher...it will happen...just like Messier saying back in 1994 before facing the Devils "We Will Win"....

Do alot of people read this blog? Im not too sure...the stats say that people must...rarely do i get comments as i figured stuff that i would say would definitly stir up the ol pot so to speak...not just saying them for the sake of saying them, but because that is what was on my mind at that particular point in time..i do however get lots and lots of Spam..back to what it is about what i have to say... now is it the truth? Perhaps it is the truth to me...might not be the truth to other people, or the fact that they just do not wanna hear it and they really don't want some blue collar guy like me telling the truth, telling people how it is...Don Cherry does that every Saturday night...not everyone agrees with Grapes.. but like everyone else he has a right to say what is on his mind...maybe it is like Jack Nicholson in that "A Few Good Men" movie..."You can't handle the truth!" Or maybe what in my own whacked out mind that i percieve to be the truth...

Im more than just the dude who goes on and on about the virtues of Colt 45 and about his Axemen football and hockey games...im a dude who is slowly, surely, taking the time to get it right (Remember thos Keith's commercials?) Im the guy who is biding his time and will eventually get what i want..i will become a certified ESL teacher...consider my path to be someone like Axl Rose and Chinese Democracy...or maybe closer to Brian Wilson and Smile to be honest... i am not perfect and nor do i intend to be..i am just me... good ol Old Man Robb and this is my safe haven...feel free to visit whenever..or don't..i will still write and spout off about God knows what..whatever is on my mind...i know it might be what you want to hear and you may answer what i want to hear, but i will defend to the end your right to say it...just leave me that same courtesy...
