Neverending Sameness..

How are things dudes and foxy ladies? Well Old Man Robb has had time to think and it has sunk in...

The 2009-00 Acadia Axemen hockey season is over...

We lost 9-2 to SMU last Wednesday....

Ouch ouch ouch...what happened? SMU seemed to get their groove back and were on a roll after beating Moncton out of the first round, did both the Axemen and UNB have too long a layoff? Both of the top teams in the AUS are out and in the first round, i remember thinking about how it was going to be a big showdown between the two top teams in the AUS..now ...nothing...oh well onto another off-season and the Axemen are losing six players over the summer..oh well..better luck next year fellas...

On the other hand i went to go see the final Acadia Axemen basketball game of the regular season against Dal, we won 68-62 and it was actually a come from behind victory for the Axemen who now have to travel to Cape Breton to play in the AUS quarterfinals against Dal as well...it was a decent crowd on hand, although i wonder if as much as a few years ago and i didn't see the extra seating pulled out like i used to, for a final game of the season and final Axemen home game for a few players, i thought i would have seen more of a crowd...

Of course before the game i made a stop off at Billy Bobs and had a donair plate...ever have one? Donair Sauce, cheese, Donair meat and fries...oh my god it is a heart attack on a plate waiting to happen, but dammit it is too good to resist...mmmmmmmmmmmmm

What else? Well i recieved my mark back for my Lesson Plan assignment and i made an A- (80%) I just hope im not getting dragged into having a false sense of security... i look at my marks so far in the class and they are 100, 80, 82, 80, 84 and all 100% on my questionnaires...tomorrow is my second virtual class with my professor and it will be my first time using my webcam for the class..we will be discussing my lesson plan  as well as the readings for Chapter 5 which has been about teaching grammar, which was so so so not my strong point at all in school, at university it improved, but that was due to alot of extra help. If i were to go back fulltime to university, i would so have to get help again with my writing skills.

Of course my sister made a trip to California over the weekend and saw the Habs play twice...once in LA and again the next night against the Ducks. Someday i make a nice trip like that...i still would like to get down to Seattle and see the place some time..lots of famous people dead and buried there- Bruce Lee, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain..not sure my sister would wanna go on a graveyard tour... yikes! Would also be nice to catch a Washington Huskies football game as well..

What else is happening? Well another fifteen days and im going to see the Harlem Globetrotters in Halifax at the Metro Centre..should be fun, of course the originals are long retired, but me and my friend Craig are going and that is always a comical time...maybe continue the hunt for Shamrock Shakes at Raunchy Ron's.... when Greenwood had them back in 2008...shock...

Of course what i wanna babble about is why in the heck did Sidney Crosby turn down the chance to go on David Letterman? Here is is Sid...a chance to really sell the NHL down in the States, oh like the Americans will ever really care for hockey, something that Gary Buttman will never get through his balding skull ...just witness the fiasco with the Coyotes and Hamilton, this league blows chance after chance to redeem themselves in the eyes of their fans...Sid here is a chance to capitalize on the momentum from the Olympics, i believe that the top athletes have an obligation to the fans and to their respective sports to raise the profile of the sport...how many NHL players get invited to Letterman? Ugh Sid...think about it!

The other sad kinda news of the week is that Farmers is stopping production of BEEP...the fruit drink. Man memories of grade primary in the Passage, Robert would you like milk or Beep? BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP please! Of course the darn thing was just sugar and water, but what a darn fine combo it was! Goes great with vodka as well..i have friends whom are asking me to buy up as many cartons as i can and freeze them...sigh..some things come to an end eh?

Oh i've been curious about this one for a bit..i heard they are no more in the States due to a falling out with Mean Gene Okerland and its distributors...but has anyone ever been to a Mean Gene's Burgers or Pizza? I get so curious as to what it was like..its a sign that definitly would have made me stop and want to go in out of crazy curiousity...

Could always be worse...

Have a good one folks...
