Post 450!!!!

Well folks and assorted Wormslime, welcome to the 450th post of RobbBlogs...well how does one celebrate eh? Some Mccain's cake and Dr Pepper? Well nahh...just a wee bit of reflection on what makes one Robert Reid Hawley...what makes him tick? Well having goals is one thing that makes me keep going, of course there are always obstacles on my journey to those goals, however obstacles can be seen as being unrecognized opportunities to better oneself...if there were no obstacles, there would be no road in which to travel on...perhaps a fork in the road, what options do i have in this life? To keep doing what others tell me is impossible...that cannot be achieved...that keeps me going...

Its been a funny trip...i mean this blog started in October of 2004 while sitting at Perkins located in the SUB at Acadia U...why did it start? Well originally me and a friend had worked out a great story about me just coming back from Mount Allison and starting up again at Acadia U, believe it or not, Maclean's Magazine was interested in the story but never got back to me after some chats, so i offered it to the Ath and their editor at the time, who was well..rather snarmy put the kabosh to that story saying my intention was to smear Mount A...not my intention at all, was a well done article about the differences in campus life and comparisons between the two...

So i remember this was a month into the year and i was pretty steamed about this...why should someone put a muzzle on me? Which leads to the other reason that Robbblogs was started up...in 2004 Acadia U was supposed to have Radio Acadia back (It started again in 2009 :) ) and it never happened and for the 3rd time "Assume The Position" was put back into mothballs after a great run in 2003 at Mount Allison on CHMA (Although i have learned in this life people to never say never again....) and i felt silenced...no great story...no radio show... then i figured, if i cannot babble, i can write and i thought what about that blogging thing...the rest is history...or infamy...

So seven years later this blog is still here as am i...lots changed too but yet stayed the same...i finished schooling at Acadia, lost my Dad (RIP) went to Japan and S Korea, remained constantly employed with the store formerly known as Andrew's and worked at jobs harrassing people as they tried to eat their supper... then last year i returned to Acadia U taking education courses through Open Acadia and on the second part of the ESL program with the intention of finally recieving my teaching certification....yes i know i know my ESL teaching certification, with which i will finally be a legitimate teacher, hopefully working for a legitimate educational institution which does not exploit adults or children under the guise of learning a language just to make a quick dollar...

Some people like to talk...i always find it an amazing thing how quick people are to judge other people on things, how people who don't talk to me or haven't really taken the chance to talk to me since oh i dunno...1983? 1984? are quick to pass judgement on me...the people who are quick to make the first cutting remark about stuff that happened in the past...people who can't find the time to make a positive comment and always drawing on the negative..people who do this need to make themselves feel powerful or to cover up their own insecurities...feel that someone is there to steal the spotlight so to speak....such sillyness...Old Man Robb has no such time for this as he is a busy man working on plans..what plans Old Man Robb? Shhhhhhhhhhhhh...you will find out soon enough...or when the time is right...

Anyways folks...nuff said...can't wait for post 500!!! Ok...im outta here!
