Hello there peeps and unfortunate wormslime..what is a happening? Well on this rainy ol Middleton day not too much...however drumroll...boom boom boom tomorrow is Homecoming at good ol Acadia U and the first order of business is the Axemen Vs Mount A...be leaving good n early in the morning for that one because i think all kinds of people are going to be coming in for the event and me and ol buddy Blair would like to acquire some VIP tickets for this one because Blair likes that oh so watery Coors beer just so much...the battle for #1 in the AUS...should be a doozy...
Of course i am still working on my first assignment for Education 4683: Introduction to Linguistics and doing my best to define the word "language" and what it means acccording to the material we covered in chapter one of our course. And the real problem is trying to accomplish this in some 500 words or so...so what is language? Well one of the definitions is that languages are systems of symbols designed for the purpse of communication. Language is used by people in a shared culture so that they can communicate with one another..Is language just spoken language? One cannot speak without using language, but one can use language without speaking....so many questions..so little time..however Old Man Robb will strive to find a way..
And no, contrary to popular belief, this was not my Thanksgiving Dinner...
Actually tonight is the opening of the AppleDome in Berwick (Berk!) it is nice to see progress, but yet at the same time im going to miss the ol Berwick Arena.. all those fun summers of going to Grand Prix Wrestling or braving cold winters to see WK in their heated rivalry with CK (And all the scraps in and underneith the stands!) it will be nice and modern over at the Appledome, but something will be missing i thinks...feel sad to see the old rinks go though... however perhaps the pre-wrestling or hockey game rituals of eating at the Driftwood or Donair Egg Rolls at that Pizza place i cannot remember the name of will remain the same...oh by the way Bruins great Rick Middleton will be there tomorrow to sign autographs and pictures...
Of course if there was no Homecoming tomorrow i would probably be headed over to Exhibition Park to go see some MSW action and the legendary Bret The Hitman Hart..i remember being at the fabulous Halifax Forum for a WWF card in the winter of 1987...i remember this because the Hart Foundation was going to take on the Young Stallions (Remember them?) and Jim Neindhart did not show up and Bret took them on in a decent handicap match...afterwards me and my friend Jason tried to get Bret's autograph and Bret ever so not politely stayed in character and told us off...good times...
Dammit...the second leg of Ozzy Osbourne's world tour that starts on January 16th in Omaha is gone to be none other than the Ozman w/ Slash opening up for him!!!!! Of course there are Canadian dates...but Halifax?!?!?! Oh Hell Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Why Why Why??!?!?! And to touch on a recent subject...i find it hella funny that the promotions that put the concerts together on the Commons went out of business..dammit when are you maroons going to realize that Halifax is a ROCK and ROLL town?!?!?!? The Black Eyed Byrds or whatever the hell they are called only sold 5000 tickets and it was heavily papered...how heavily Old Man Robb??!?!?! To the point where tickets were being given away at Rainbow Haven Beach!!! And really Kid Rock being cancelled...his show was one that should have been booked for the Metro Centre...That is sad...but Hfx was spoiled after having KISS, Sir Paul and Moncton next door having AC/DC...and of course Moncton got a NEW football stadium out of it too...Hfx best come up with something good to appease the masses...
Might have to go to KFC on the 18th...i know i know its so wrong, but the Double Down is finally making its debut in Canada...have to go have one...of course not to be outdone, Raunchy Ron is bringing back the MCRIB!!!!!! The Mc Frickin Rib!!!! Makes me think of that awesome flick "Im Gonna Git You Sucka" where a young Chris Rock orders just one rib...and wants a handful of soda and wants to pay for it with a $100 bill...ahhaahah... that and the original Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch walking around with aquariums on his feet!!!
So my good buddy Mr Montalban asked me the greatest question of all time..."What is a Ladies Man??!?!!?" So peeps that is a good question ya know...just what is a ladies man anyways? Old Man Robb?!?!? Well that is the obvious answer to the question eh? haha..Well A ladies' man is a male who is attractive to or is attracted by women..easy answer of course..i have found for one to be a laddies man you don't even have to be that darn magnificent looking...i worked for a gas station for a dude who resembled WWF legend Earthquake and his way of greeting someone was to huff and gruff but man...go somewhere with him and the ladies FLOCKED to him....never figured it out... to really answer the question..a ladies man is someone who is smooth..has confidence, but not to the point of over-confidence, who can be persistant to the ladies..esp if there is one who he wants, someone funny and knows what he is doing...
To hell with the definitions...just be like Billy Dee!!! Two rules to remember when being a ladies man like Billy Dee...Rule number one...never run out of Colt 45...Rule number Two...don't forget Rule number one...of course you can have a good time without Colt 45...but why take chances? Damn ...love those commericals...and i had to tell a friend yrs ago that the lady in the ad was not Bill Cosby's wife from the Cosby Show...(Found out yrs later it was a PORNO star!!! Billy Dee!!!)
Anyways that is enough ranting for one evening..got me some Homecoming to look forward to tomorrow..have a good one folks!
